In April and May, Taiwan's northern mountains seem to be covered with snow as the spring winds fill the air with Tung Blossom flowers . 油桐花在四月底佔滿台灣中低海拔山區，五月時達到最盛。遊客描寫油桐花是「五月雪」，漫步在油桐樹林間，空氣飄著淡淡的油桐花香，旋轉飄落的朵朵白花鋪滿一層白毯。 最容易看到油桐的地方是北二高沿線的山坡，四五月間綠色的山坡上一叢一叢白白便是油桐花，不過油桐花遠觀不如近玩，走進樹林，才能得到最深刻的清新感受 Driving along National Highway No.3 from Taipei to Miaoli in April and May, you can see a white blanket of Tung Blossom draped over the green of the mountains. The discovery of the Tung tree in Taiwan dates back to a hundred years in the Long River basin where the blossoming season runs from April to May. Tung Blossom grow in clusters from the plain to the hillside, looking like snow from afar --- hence their mystical name May Snow.
