Something to share ...........
When my son was small, I remember him taking a rather bad fall one day outside. I held him in my arms and comforted him as he cried and I told him the following. “Honey, sometimes there is nothing you can do but suffer through it.”
Life can be pretty brutal at times. And there are few things that are more painful than heartache and love lost. Eating poorly and not exercising at these times, however, is like throwing gas on a fire as it will definitely make maters worse. On the other hand, forcing yourself to walk a healthy line during challenging times will make you feel better and will speed your emotional recovery. I truly believe that. I think you are better served if you make your health a top priority in your life and not allow any interferences that life throws at you to sidetrack your effort. I know it’s easier said than done but it is the answer to this dilemma.
The only way that you will be able to remain focused on healthy living during some of life’s storms is if YOU make it happen. You have the power here, even though it often doesn’t feel like it. If you find yourself in the midst of relationship problems today, what you have in front of you right now is not only a heartache; it’s also an incredible opportunity. For it is only in these trying times that you have the potential to gain strength, create a healthier you and close the gap between who you are and who you want to be. If you can perform the mental gymnastics necessary to see through the pain and recognize the possibility here, you can turn your turmoil into motivation. Give that some thought as you wander through your day today.
Wishing You Great Health,
Dr. John H. Sklare
