We stopped at  San-Yi for lunch on the way back to Taipei ....  and I talked my friend into trying this special Hakka Tea .... glad we did it .

First , we grind the peanuts ,black sesame seeds ,dried tea leaves and some pinenuts with a mortar and a pestle ....

then mix some sesame powder, peanut powder , soybean powder ....in the mortar with some boiling water ....
and sprinkle some white Hakka rice ( on the right  ) and just enjoy the tea ~ !

It took us almost 30 minutes to make this tea BUT , It tasted really good !!   (Though the color looks a bit weird )

Hakka Tea ( Lai-Cha ) -- green tea, sesame, peanuts, Chinese herbs, rice, beans and other ingredients are ground up in a mortar and mixed in hot water. Special Hakka rice is added. Lai-Cha can be sweet or salty, vegetarian or non-vegetarian; other foods can be added as well. In Hakka villages, it is considered impolite not to offer Lai-Cha to guests.
