Andy Warhol, was an American artist and a figure in the movement known as pop art. After a successful career as a commercial illustrator, Warhol became famous worldwide for his work as a painter, avant-garde filmmaker, record producer, author, and public figure known for his membership in wildly diverse social circles that included bohemian street people, distinguished intellectuals, Hollywood celebrities and wealthy aristocrats.
Warhol has been the subject of numerous retrospective exhibitions, books, and feature and documentary films.
Warhol created the concept of "15 minutes of fame", which refers to the fleeting condition of fame in the modern world, mainly attributed to mass media and transience in human beings.
安迪·沃荷(Andy Warhol，1928年8月6日－1987年2月22日)是普普藝術最有名的開創者之一。他在美國賓夕法尼亞州的匹茲堡出生。
安迪·沃荷認為藝術與金錢掛勾，因此應該要努力把藝術商業化。他的著名作品中，有一幅不斷複製家傳戶曉的康寶湯圖案，就是宣佈資本主義生產方式的新一階段。他經常使用絹印版畫技法來重現圖象。他的作品中最常出現的是名人以及人們熟悉的事物，比如瑪麗蓮·夢露和埃爾維斯·普雷斯利。重複是其作品的一大特色。
安迪·沃荷亦曾投放精力到電影和音樂上（地下絲絨 The Velvet Underground）。但其電影作品多被視為地下電影，《Chelsea Girl》、《Eat》、《Blue Movie》等，以創意的色情、缺乏情節和過份地冗長著稱。
1968年，安迪·沃荷遭狂迷槍擊，重傷但撿回一命。1987年2月22日，他在紐約家中心臟病發逝世，享年59歲。他的身家估計高達7億美元。
