there are many temples dedicated to Yue Lao for matchmaking in Taiwan ... I have been to two of them - one is in Taipei (霞海城隍廟) other one is in Hsin Chu (普天宮)
Chinese people have a belief that 2 people , because of FATE , are born with a red string tied to each's finger , it's like an invisble binding around a child's ankle or some say around their little finger ,binding him /her to a destined wife/husband .
how it works? you just need to go to one of those temples and pray for a " red string " , which you have to carry it with you all the time till you find your destined one .
then you go back to the temple again after you have gotten engaged , offer your engagement / wedding cakes as a sacrifice to " Yue Lao " to show your appreciation .
they say that you can only ask for a red string in your life ... going to the temples to ask for more than one red strings would make " Yue Lao " confused and might match you up with the wrong one ... :)
I threw away the one I got at one temple many years ago as soon as I broke up with Richard ( I still remember that the reason why I went was because of my other girlfreinds , so it was like a field trip to the temple .... when it was my turn ,I was asking God for making the relationship with R easier and I would love him more ... ha ha what was I thinking )
I didn't get another one until almost 2 months before I met my HB .... so you ask me if I believe in this ?? humm......

心誠則靈 除了誠心外 行動力也很重要
既然每個人身上有調紅線 但是卻遲遲沒等到人來 以致於 有這麼一說 "你的紅線斷了" (但是既然是命中註定 為何會斷了呢 )
或許是 人人生來有機會 可是卻不是人人都會去抓住機會 .... 時間一點一點流逝 永遠在被動的等那個等不到的人
每天很努力的拜月老 卻老是在家當宅男宅女的 也不見主動積極改變生活習慣 卻心中期望奇蹟出現 .... 這似乎也很矛盾
我去過兩家月老廟 求過兩次紅線 弟一次是很多年前 跟一群女生去 當時已經有對象的我 只記得 求的是 希望不要一直吵架 他能好相處點 我也能多愛他一點 ....難怪這種奇怪的要求 最後月老沒幫我 哈哈哈哈 分手後 我將紅線一並與他的照片丟掉
弟二條是一直到我跟HB認識前的約兩個月左右去求的吧 當時 只單純希望遇到一個真正的好對象 ..... 就沒說有的沒的了
不過 這家除了紅線之外 ...還給了很多其他東西 兩個香包 兩個銅幣 ..... 這樣是可以增強"法力"嗎 哈哈哈
